Work of a call center.

Once I lived with a girl who works in a call center. Although my stay was for one week only, but the insight I got about the call center life was a revelation. Although, it is becoming one of the main employers for youngsters and is one of the paymasters of the young crowd, but it is another form of slavery. A person working in a call center loses its own identity, and wears a mask of some unknown foreigner. Not only their names and accents are changed, but also they have to learn the history, geography, culture of those countries (for which they are working). I am not able to understand what is the need of these things is. Why cannot they accept the calls, being an Indian? Is being an Indian means we are incapable of handling their calls, give them technical support or do other work properly?

Working in night shifts can be acceptable, as we cannot change the time difference that exists. However, can we not work as Indians in these call-center and prove the world how efficient and productive we are? Why are we accepting happily this form of slavery?

Yesterdays Cricket Match

Although India loses to south Africa, but i think it is a confidence win for india. I have been watching cricket for last 10 years, but never seen Indian middle order batting so well. If it would be indian team about 4-5 months back, it might have collapsed after Sachin getting out so early. But this time, every player of the team has confidence, and they have a will do so something. Now they are not dependent on Sachin's batting. Their self-confidence is boosted like anything. So inspite, india loses I think its a win of each player of the indian team. Its a win of their self-confidence.

India Vs USA

In recent past, i was observing people's craze for going US. This craze is specially more among software professional. Every software professional is looking for a opportunity, when his company will send him US. This urge of getting a opportunity to see the world is justified. But I find lot many people who just became fond of every thing of that place. Instead of thinking how to improve those things in India, they just want to go USA and enjoy those things. This i feel is actually running away from your responsibility of being a Indian citizen.
